HOW DOES IT WORK?

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body and in the skin (dermis) in particular.

The natural ageing process leads to a dramatic decrease in collagen and elastin in the skin. As a result, skin loses elasticity and firmness, wrinkles appear and deepen, the face sags, sags, becomes blotchy or unevenly coloured.

Fortunately, we now have miracle rejuvenation formulas to correct the appearance of sagging skin, the grooves at the corners of the mouth or the wrinkles between the eyebrows. Using the right hyaluronic acid through special injection methods, the experts at SKINMED® will bring a visible and lasting improvement in the quality of your skin on your face, neck, décolleté and hands.

Types of hyaluronic acid you can benefit from in SKINMED®

In SKINMED® we use Juvederma complete range of hyaluronic acid therapies to improve all aspects of the ageing process, depending on where corrections are needed.

How does this procedure work?

Hyaluronic acid injection is a minimally invasive, painless technique and is performed after topical (local) application of anaesthetic.
The effect is visible immediately, without further precautions, and is long-lasting, often lasting up to two years.

What side effects may occur?

Local reactions may occur at the injection site, such as erythema, redness, bruising or ecchymosis, pain or mild itching, which disappear within 24 hours to 7 days (on average 72 hours).
Extremely rarely indurations and granulomas or reversible staining of the injection site may occur, and very rarely intravascular injection necrosis. In SKINMED® the procedures are performed by experienced medical staff, which radically reduces the risk of these unpleasant situations occurring.

In SKINMED® you will find highly experienced medical specialists working with the latest results of medical research on prevention and treatment, using state-of-the-art medical equipment and products. We are waiting for you to meet our doctors for a treatment tailored to your needs!

Frequently asked questions

What are dermal fillets?

Dermal fillers are substances used in facial aesthetic treatments that are injected into the skin. They are substances specially designed to reduce wrinkles, contour or create volume. They are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin, the production of which decreases with age.

What is hyaluronic acid and what problems does it treat?

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally found in almost all living organisms. It has the property of attracting and binding water, playing a role in lubricating and absorbing mechanical shock to the joints; it also plays an important role in transporting nutrients and maintaining optimal hydration in the skin.

Facial volumisation with facial oval reshaping is an important concern at the moment. With advancing age, all structures, from the integument to the bony region of the face, suffer with descent towards the lower region and the creation of the inverted triangle (with the base at the bottom), which gives the "sagging" appearance of the face.

Using cross-linked and/or non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid therapies we can help restore facial appearance in areas such as the cheekbones, lower zygomatic area, mandibular area, chin (chin). Next, we treat visible facial grooves such as the nasolabial grooves or those coming down from the corners of the mouth. Volumizing the lips may be a desire or a necessity for some patients, and this area is extremely delicate and requires proper injection to achieve the beauty and naturalness we desire.

With hyaluronic acid we correct the appearance of the eye area to erase negative facial features such as sadness or fatigue.

All our skin imperfections can be significantly improved and even erased by intra dermal injection of hyaluronic acid with restoration of texture, firmness, brightness and erasure of any residual traces such as facial scars.

How long do the effects of hyaluronic acid treatment last?

Depending on the area treated and the type of treatment, the duration varies:

  • 12 months (nasolabial folds, wrinkles, Juvederm Volift)
  • 24 months (cheekbones, Juvederm Voluma)
  • 9 months (mature ten, Juvederm Volite)

How do dermal fillets work?

By increasing the concentration of hyaluronic acid in the skin, fillets have the property of revitalising, replenishing the skin's volume, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Filerelle are injectable substances in gel form, hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. Hyaluronic acid has a structure very similar to that which normally exists in the body, and has a long-lasting effect without being permanent.

What are the benefits of fillets?

Dermal injection with fillets is an easy way to reduce wrinkles, improve skin texture for a more youthful appearance. Results are seen after a single treatment session and are maintained for 6 to 18 months. The fillere injection gives a natural look that does not affect the expressiveness of the face.

Is dermal fillets treatment safe?

At SKINMED® we use the highest quality hyaluronic acid with numerous safety studies behind it, guaranteeing its safety and effectiveness. As the molecules are very similar in structure to the hyaluronic acid naturally present in tissues, the risk of allergic reactions is minimised.

What areas can we treat?

Fillers can be used to soften and fill fine lines and wrinkles, to create a fuller lip look, to contour the face and restore volume.

  • Nasolabial grooves
  • Corners of the mouth (puppet lines)
  • Wrinkles between the eyebrows (glabella)
  • Lips (volume and contour)
  • Pomegranates

What is involved in fillere treatment?

Next:

During the initial consultation, the dermatologist will discuss with you what you expect from this treatment, what it is intended to achieve, recommending the most appropriate treatment for you, depending on the particularities of each patient.

During the procedure:

The filler will be injected into the skin using a fine needle. The treatment generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the area treated and the amount of hyaluronic acid injected. The injected hyaluronic acid restores volume, fills in lines and wrinkles, contours the treated area and maintains facial expression.

After:

Dermal fibrils are biodegradable substances, which means they will normally disappear from the tissues. To ensure results are maintained, a second treatment session is recommended 6-12 months after the initial session. Your dermatologist will also make an appointment for a follow-up shortly after the procedure.
Immediately after treatment, local reactions such as redness, itching, slight bruising, mild pain in the area may occur. These are usually of low to moderate intensity and disappear shortly after the injection.

How long do the treatment effects last?

One of the advantages of dermal fillets is that the results are long-lasting; however, they are not permanent. A new treatment session is usually recommended every 1-2 years, depending on each patient's individual characteristics (age, lifestyle, skin type, etc.).

Who is this treatment for?

Most people can benefit from this treatment for:

- Reduce lines and wrinkles
- Creates fuller, more contoured lips
- Contour and restore volume to facial structures (cheekbones, chin)
- To improve the texture and appearance of the skin (face, neck, neckline or hands)

The phyllodes are not to be used in areas where there are active skin infections, inflammation or other skin conditions.
They are not indicated for pregnant or breastfeeding women, people with autoimmune diseases or on immunosuppressive therapy, or those prone to infections.

Is pain relief treatment needed after the injection?

In general, pain relief treatment is not necessary. The procedure is carried out after prior application of an anaesthetic cream to significantly reduce discomfort. In the case of the lips, which are a sensitive area, the use of a lidocaine, an anaesthetic substance, is used to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

Are there any risks associated with injecting fillets?

More than 2 million procedures involving the injection of phyllodes are performed worldwide every year. Allergic reactions are extremely rare. Immediately after the injection, redness, oedema, pain, itching and bruising may occur, but are mild to moderate in intensity and disappear within a few days to a week after the procedure. After lip augmentation, swelling of the lips may occur, which begins to decrease in intensity after the first 2 days.
