What cosmetology services we offer in SKINMED®?

For your beauty and well-being, you can opt for various services offered by our specialists:

Description and necessity of the procedure

Facials are an absolutely necessary care ritual to be performed once a month in the beauty salon, in addition to daily home care.

The most common skin problems by age:

  • Up to 20 years: excess sebum and/or skin sensitivity;
  • After 30: the first expression lines;
  • After the age of 50: due to hormonal changes in the body and without proper care, wrinkles set in permanently.

The appearance of the face is negatively influenced by environmental factors, pollution, smoking, stress, a disordered lifestyle. To counteract their effects, special attention needs to be paid to the skin of the face. In addition to proper care at home, once a month you need a facial treatment by a specialist, who will use products with a high concentration of the active ingredients needed for your skin type.

Facial treatments performed in SKINMED®, depending on the type of skin and products used:

  • moisturising for dry skin
  • soothing and reducing sensitivity for sensitive skin
  • products to combat excess sebum and minimise pores in oily or greasy skin
  • anti-ageing products for mature skin

Stages of a cosmetic treatment

- Demolition

  • is necessary to prepare the skin for the next steps of the therapy
  • is carried out with products specific to each skin type

- Exfoliating and preparing the skin for eventual cleansing

  • is carried out with products that exfoliate the skin very superficially and products that open the pores, facilitating extraction

- Extraction, if necessary (comedones, blackheads, milia points)

  • is performed manually

- Soothing the complexion with special products

- Facial massage

  • has a relaxing and calming effect
  • the skin benefits from a supply of oxygen to the tissues by activating blood microcirculation, increasing collagen production
  • the skin warms up, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate better inside

- Applying a facial mask specific to your skin type

- Apply a finishing cream with a sun protection factor specific to your skin type.

Facial massage is a pleasant and relaxing therapy with multiple benefits for the tone and beauty of the skin on the face, neck and décolleté.

In addition to the benefits for the skin, facial massage also helps to achieve a general state of well-being, reduces stress, headaches, migraines.

The procedure requires special techniques and is recommended to be performed by the specialist as a separate therapy or as part of cosmetic treatments.

Benefits of the procedure:

  • Improves mood, lowers anxiety levels. By stimulating the nerves and pressure points in the face, the procedure becomes a real treat.
  • Helps oxygenate skin tissues by activating blood microcirculation, resulting in a revitalised complexion.
  • Helps to absorb more easily into the skin concentrated products that can be applied during the procedure.
  • It improves overall skin tone by stimulating facial muscles and gives a slight lifting effect.
  • It has a detoxifying effect. By stimulating the lymph nodes throughout the face, especially along the jawline and chin, toxins in the facial area are taken up and eliminated by the lymph.

Eyebrows play a decisive role in the expressiveness of the face, as their shape can influence facial expression, sometimes not for the better. For example, overly arched eyebrows can make your features look too narrow, giving you an expression that is always surprised or frowning. Eyebrows that are too rounded make you look sad, while eyebrows that are too short visually shorten the length of your eyes. That's why it's necessary to call in the specialist when you need to think about your eyebrows. He will take the necessary measurements and advise you on the ideal shape for your physiognomy.

Stages of eyebrow styling

Eyebrow counselling and discussion is the first and most important stage, because every person is different. Of course, even with eyebrows, it's good to wear what suits you, not what's fashionable. Your beautician should know what you want in terms of eyebrow styling, how often you are willing to come in for a tweeze, and advise you on the ideal eyebrow shape for your features.

In the second stage, the necessary measurements are taken, the planting of the hairs is checked, their direction of growth is checked and their shape is established, and then the hairs that do not fit into the shape are clamped.

Eyebrow tinting is an optional step, depending on the patient's skin and hair tone.

Eyelash rolling is a non-invasive technique that aims to achieve long, curved, coloured and strengthened eyelashes for 3 to 8 weeks. With the products used during the procedure, we get both natural lash beautification and lash care.

Stages of the procedure

Eye and eyelash removalusing a special product. The beautician will then separate the upper lashes from the lower lashes with special patches or medical tape.

Applying curlers to the upper eyelid (special silicone strips), on which the top lashes will be climbed, combed and fixed. Then, the 5 substances needed for lamination will be applied in order, each one needing its own time of action. When the process is at an end, the curlers are removed and the lashes are brushed out.

Who is eyelash rolling for?

Eyelash curling has emerged as an alternative to eyelash extensions and is suitable for people who want long, curved lashes but with a natural effect.

The procedure suits people who have short, light-coloured lashes, those with straight lashes, those who want to take a break from eyelash extensions, people who do not use or have developed an allergy to mascara.

Frequently asked questions

How do they work and what are the benefits of facials?

By applying concentrated products dedicated to each skin type, we manage to improve the overall appearance of the skin.

When and for whom is a facial indicated?

  • both women and men after the age of 30, when the cell regeneration process slows down and the natural production of collagen and elastin gradually decreases, and the skin starts to lose tone and elasticity;
  • adults of all ages who have specific problems with oily, dry or sensitive skin.

How often is a facial indicated?

Cosmetic treatment is indicated once every 4 weeks.

How do we care for our skin at home after treatment?

Until the next office visit, 2 essential skin care steps should be followed at home, both in the morning and in the evening: cleansing and application of serums/creams recommended for your skin type.

Why is treatment needed in addition to home creams?

In the case of skin with excess sebum, extraction is needed to unclog pores. Products used in the office have a higher concentration of active ingredients than those used at home and are better absorbed into the skin through the massage procedure.

How long does a facial last?

A facial massage session lasts 20 minutes, no longer, otherwise the effects are the opposite of what you want, by overstraining the skin and muscles of the face.

At what intervals can I have facial massage?

The facial massage procedure can be done 2-3 times a week.

When is facial massage not indicated?

Facial massage cannot be done in case of acne, psoriasis, eczema, open wounds. In these cases, skin problems can worsen.

Also, the procedure is not indicated immediately after botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid injections.

How often should you come in for brow styling?

A visit to the surgery every 3 weeks at the most would be desirable, to maintain the shape.

How quickly will you achieve the perfect brow shape?

Patience is the rule of thumb in the case of eyebrows that have been wrongly groomed for too long, the desired result will be achieved sooner or later, depending on the speed of regeneration of your eyebrow hairs.

How to care for eyelashes after rolling?

Immediately after the procedure, between 12 and 24 hours, the substances used are still active and we cannot apply make-up/make-up, we cannot wet our eyelashes and we have to be careful how we sleep, especially if we have chosen to do the lamination in the evening.

After this time, we can resume our grooming rituals, wet our lashes, swim, apply mascara, etc.

How long does the lamination process take?

The lamination lasts approximately 60-75 minutes, during which time 5 substances are applied to the natural lashes, each with its own time of action.

Is it painful or unpleasant?

The lamination does not hurt or bother, the patient keeps her eyes closed and no effort is required on her part.

How soon should you repeat the procedure?

The first two lamination sessions are done every 3 weeks, then, depending on the speed of natural eyelash regeneration, every 4-8 weeks.

Is it a problem if your eyes are sensitive and watery?

No, it does not affect the lamination procedure.

Who is not recommended to undergo the lamination procedure?

The substances used in the lamination process have no side effects and do not cause allergies, with the only contraindication being to dye eyelashes in the process if the person is allergic to eyelash/eyebrow dye in general. Other contraindications are for people who have an eye infection or have undergone eye surgery until the problem has healed.

There is also a (rare) possibility that the procedure may not work for people who are menopausal or have certain hormonal imbalances.

When the effects of lamination start to show, what should I expect?

The effects of lamination can be seen immediately after the procedure, eyelashes become curlier, have a more intense colour, appear thicker, the effect is natural.

Immediately afterwards, they may look a little tightly bound together, which is due to the keratin oil used at the end, and then the next day, after the first make-up removal, the lashes will be beautifully trimmed. Over time, after several procedures, lashes will become longer and stronger.

Is lamination the same as eyelash perming?

No, these are two different processes. Laminating uses just the first two steps of the perm, but on a much smaller area of the natural lashes, 1-2 mm, 1 mm away from the base (not the whole lash as with perming), followed by tinting, SPA lash cream and final serum for care.

Is special training required beforehand?

No, there is no need. However, it would be desirable for the patient to come unclothed, otherwise the working time is prolonged and eye make-up is needed.

You should also make sure that you will not need to apply make-up immediately after the procedure.
