What types of ultrasound scans are most often performed in SKINMED®?
Gynecological ultrasound
Provides information needed to observe the condition and functionality of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, breasts, etc., as well as the possible identification of gynaecological conditions.
Vascular ultrasound
It is used to measure blood flow and blood pressure in veins and arteries. It is used to diagnose arterial injuries and to follow the appearance of blood vessels during treatment.
Abdominal ultrasound

What is Doppler ultrasound and why is it important?
Venous Doppler ultrasound is an imaging method of choice in the assessment of the superficial and deep venous systems.
With the help of a special transducer, the internal and external saphenous veins, the deep venous system are visualised, and the existence of venous reflux, i.e. an incompetence to close a valve, is confirmed or denied. Phlebologists call it a venous system map.
This ultrasound confirms or refutes the existence of surgical indication in case of chronic venous disease, detects any anatomical implantation abnormalities of the two major veins of the superficial venous system.
