HArmonyCa is a hybrid injectable product with dual effect. The new filler contains two active ingredients, calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) and hyaluronic acid (HA). HArmonyCa with lidocaine has the ability to improve skin quality and counteract the signs of ageing through an immediate lifting effect provided by hyaluronic acid and a sustained lifting effect provided by collagen production stimulated by calcium hydroxyapatite.
Company Allergan Aesthetics of the AbbVie Group, presented its new aesthetic medicine treatment in Milan, announcing its entry into the hybrid injectable filler category with an ad-hoc treatment capable of reducing the signs of ageing on the face in a multidimensional way thanks to the two active ingredients it contains.

How do hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) work?
Hyaluronic acid particles penetrate deep into the skin, where they exert a plumping and volumising action for an immediate lifting effect. In addition, calcium hydroxyapatite particles support the body's production of collagen, so new collagen fibres begin to form. As the gel gradually disappears, a firm and dense network of collagen appears in its place for a gradual and long-lasting lifting effect associated with calcium hydroxyapatite. What does the procedure involve and which areas of the face can be treated with HArmonyCa?
First, your doctor will discuss your concerns, assess whether HArmonyCa treatment is right for you and suggest which areas of your face can be treated with HArmonyCa. Then, he or she will administer HArmonyCa injections to the areas that need treatment. HArmonyCa contains lidocaine, an anaesthetic that is designed to reduce discomfort during treatment.
HArmonyCa can be used in the deep dermal layer in certain areas of the face, but cannot be injected around the eyes, in the lips or in the perioral area.
What are the indications before and after treatment with HArmonyCa?
During the consultation, your doctor will tell you what you should do before and after treatment with HArmonyCa. It is good to know that after treatment, you should:

- Avoid exercise or high-intensity activities, sun exposure, tanning equipment or extreme weather conditions for 24 hours;
- Apply ice or cold compresses to treated areas for 24 hours, as most injectable treatments can cause redness, swelling and irritation;
- Massage the treated areas if you feel small lumps.
HArmonyCa injection results and their duration
HArmonyCa provides an immediate lifting effect while stimulating collagen production. Research indicates that HArmonyCa provides an immediate lifting effect starting as early as two weeks after injection, and results have been demonstrated in 86% of the 85 areas treated. In fact, 92% of patients treated with HArmonyCa reported an improvement in the overall appearance of treated facial areas.
A survey of patients treated with HArmonyCa shows that the majority were very satisfied with the treatment (average score of 4.1 out of 5) after 19 months.
